Wonderful multi-zone LINN instalation: ''exclusive apartment Stockholm'

The owner of this amazing apartment appreciates a great music system, loves music but also is very design conscious. The multi-zone system would not only have to perform at the highest level but fit in with some amazing design, art and living spaces. It would also have to deliver a lifestyle, a rather fantastic lifestyle.

As the apartment is often used for entertaining and some fantastic parties, multi room party-mode was essential. LINN fitted the criteria without any weak links. The main sitting area has a combination of reference electronics and beautiful Akurate speakers, which complement the space. The system can both be played hard at a party but also deliver the highest level of fine-listening performance.

The music system adds so much to the whole experience of the apartment. The transition through the day from lounge listening, background music reaching every space, inside and out in this apartment, perfectly synchronised party-mode with varying volumes in varying spaces to almost nightclub levels, enhanced with a great coloured lighting system really is something.

The system was designed for the purpose, it was intentional and it delivers. The day after you sit on the sofa and relax listening to the highest studio quality music from reference LINN, in total contrast to the day before. The system ... and I mean the system as a whole with all it's zones improves the apartment.

The main room system is completely reference, latest specification LINN Klimax Range with contrasting finishes. Silver chassis source and control with black power amps. Very nice! Klimax DS, Klimax Kontrol &  Pair of Klimax Solo's. These are accompanied with a a pair of LINN Akurate 242's in probably my favourite finish, Black Ash.

The space is vast with the upper floor having a pitched very high ceiling and completely open to the bottom floor some eight meters I'd say from the crown of the building to lower floor level. The bottom level is also vast with a dining area and open kitchen so we have a stylish but diskreet Majik system installed under the floating stairs with Majik DSM. Some inbuilt speakers in the kitchen area with Sekrit DSM fill out the sound over the kitchen area for larger gatherings. This area opens up to a large balcony area, also driven by Sekrit DSM and with outdoor speakers mounted under the sun-canopy.

Other areas include an office room with aktiv LINN IW10 in-wall speakers driven with Klimax renew and Majik amps. Brilliant speakers. The bathroom is so large and airy we didn't use waterproof speakers but rather went for Kustom 106 driven by Sekrit DSi.

Some other treats are an AVA Maestro which amplifies a LED TV digital out to a sound bar in a bedroom. An amazing 5:1 system which is seamlessly hidden and automated, dropping down and popping out from the ceiling with projection lifting up and out from a custom made TV-table.

You have to give it to the hidden multi-coloured LED lighting that transform the space from a very plush living space into what feels and looks like an exclusive night club. Brilliant!

Proof that music can improve your life!

''abandinabrewery'' off to a great start ...

Many thanks first to Maeve O'Boyle & Gordon McNeil for a fantastic performance. It was great to hear some songs from Maeve's first album ''All My Sins'' & of course some from the upcoming album ''Being Patient''.

A big thanks to the owners and staff at ''Beerbliotek'' Professional job, great venue and I have to say ... fantastic beer though maybe I shouldn't have had seven of them ... ooops! Thanks to Stearin Bar & Restaurant that catered the event.

Thanks to MUG for the help with PA system and of course to everyone that attended and made it the special evening it was. Special thanks to Andy & Dave whom respectively brought allot of friends with them and gave me great encouragement. We have a couple of HD recordings sent for edit and of course mix/master of the audio and will be sharing that with you all at a later date.

Maeve O'Boyle ... doesn't matter how many times I see Her live or listen to Her rehearsing in my living room ... She still freaks me out. AMAZING!!

LIVE @ Peoples & Schmidt (LINN HiFi), Linnegatan. 17 TH April: EMILY BARKER

Emily Barker is the latest sensation signed to LINNrecords and with songs on TV series like the BBC 'The Shadowline' and 'Wallander', the later theme tune winning a BAFTA award, Emily is well .. very established!

Way too good for our place really but She is very welcome :)

email martin@peoplesandschmidt, sms or tel 0760071281 for your exclusive ticket priced 200 Sek.

Quite som resume:-

Hailing from Bridgetown, Western Australia, Emily Barker is a compelling songwriter with a gift for weaving melody and words. Her talent is perfectly complimented by the magnificent arrangements of her band The Red Clay Halo, whose rootsy ensemble playing underpins Barker's agile vocal blend of strength and fragility.

Together they have recorded three albums: the first was ‘Photos.Fires.Fables.' (2007) - an eclectic tapestry of old-time narratives weaving gothic stories of fire, tragedy, love and hard lessons...

‘...sharply observed, original songs ...adventurously embellished by gypsy flourishes and haunting desert echoes that'd be at home on a Calexico album'
Uncut
'This is a gorgeous, sincere voice that grabs you and won't let go'  The Sun
This was followed by ‘Despite The Snow' (2008) which was recorded in just four days over a snowy Easter weekend in Norfolk. Critically acclaimed in the UK and Australian music press, its opening track ‘Nostalgia' became the Bafta-winning theme tune to BBC One drama Wallander starring British actor Kenneth Branagh. The music went on to win a BAFTA and a Royal Television Award.

'Stripped free of studio frippery and all the better for its carefree simplicity' 4 stars  Q Magazine
'The hills have yet to be emptied of gold if you know where to look.'  The Times

February 2011 saw the release of ‘Almanac,' immediately attracting strong support from BBC radio with sessions for Cerys Matthews on 6 Music and Radio 4's Loose Ends, and single 'Little Deaths' picked as Record of the Week on Nemone's 6 Music show. A stream of sold-out UK tour dates followed, culminating in a rapturously received show at London's St Giles-In-The-Fields church at which 'Almanac' was performed in its entirety including a stunning, stark version of 'Pause'. This song has since been used as the theme tune to the BBC2 noir thriller The Shadow Line which received critical acclaim.

Is HiFi technology moving as fast as the simple torch?

This torch lights up 400 meters, it is controlled by a microprocessor chip - a dual microprocessor chip, it has zoom and a special 'TIR lens', comes with rechargeable battery kit, has run time up to 100 hours ... it's waterproof to 2m, shock resistant, fits in the palm of your hand and costs 100 USD.

I have just been listening to my little AVA Maestro with it's machined from solid, aluminium chassis, 2 * digital inputs and 50W of power. It's as amazing as the little torch above and at a similarly insane price; in this case 2995 Sek.

I'm awaiting the AVA-Maestro big brother, the precision with 150W, slim design in an amazing machined from solid chassis, 4 digital and one analogue input and a remote that costs the manufacturer 42 pounds UK to buy in. It will sell for a little over 11000 Sek in Sweden and if the little brother is anything to judge by, it will outperform some HiFi at ten times that price. WHAT??

So for 100,000 Sek these days you can have a AVA super server with SSD (23ooo) which is also an APP controlled digital stream player, a CD ripper and of course almost unlimited expandable storage solution in an amazing chassis ... breath ... a super high end AVA HiFi (approx 11000) perfectly matching your super server with amazing LINN speakers, (11450) a huge, super-slim, low power, super-smart TV, (16000) which you can browse the internet, rent films, stream music and film, play games, read the newspaper and so on and so on ... breath ... you get a tablet (ipad/android) (3000) to wirelessly control everything ... breath again ... plus a trip to some paradise land with a budget of 30,000 Sek and a new & real Martin Guitar ... (5500) ... and a bloody torch that lights up to 400m

My friends ... the world is now very cheap!

Did I mention that for 250 Sek on 13TH April, you get a meal, a luxury beer and a LIVE performance from an international artist that has played The Whitehouse ,,, and for the Pope ... well the previous Pope and 100,000 of His friends ..

Our pleasure!!
