So! How does it sound?
Some times you realise that you have ''just been pretending'' when the real thing comes along! The Gold Room sounds absolutely amazing, you can't even compare it with any other space in our shop and with this system, well it's like a fantastic studio but with better equipment!
It's just a completely different level of performance!
The new Solo's deliver an extremely clean sound ... noticeably cleaner than the pre-Dynamik-Power-Supply version, just so much information and only the the information you want i.e. music! You don't just hear the instrument but rather the whole instrument. When a second or third or forth instrument comes into the song, each instrument is just as clear as the last and just as easy to follow individually. There is no question if it's a guitar bass or contra bass ... you can hear the fingers on the strings, I'm guessing if you are in the music branch you could probably tell me the make of the guitar. With Klimax DS as the source, everything is delivered and everything is in time, perfectly in time. I describe the Klimax Kontrol pre-amplifier as a black hole that somehow organises the band so what is delivered becomes one piece of music and not a bunch of separate performances. It does this and adds absolutely no character to the sound. LINN's goal is to come as close to the LIVE as possible, Carol Kidd should sound like Carol Kidd if she were in the room. A Martin guitar like a Martin guitar and the performance should be as the artist intended, the amount of bass they intended, not more or less. This level of equipment lets the Akurate 242 speakers do what they are good at ... deliver whatever the signal tells them to do! I love this system ... the only issue ... it's just hard to see how LINN can improve on this level in the future!

At no other level on the LINN hierarchy, a Klimax system, is it so simple for us to playback music that is so involving, you will simply be captured and drift off into the world of the artist. Music played at this level is comparable to a live concert where if you let it, your every emotion is linked to the the artists performance ... it can make you happy or make you sad, make you want to dance or just sit and cry ... at this level you really experience what the artist strived to create ... emotion!
When considering a system at this level we want our customers to really take time to experience how a system, at this highest level, can not only improve how you enjoy your home and music but can be literally life changing. We respect the size of the investment at this level and invite you to really use this room, spending as much time as you like there to really test the potential, prior to purchase. Please use Gustaf and I as a point of reflection and don't be afraid to send us shopping for your favourite tracks which we will try to find in studio quality when possible.
