Summer Promo

Linn News: +2 promo back for limited time +2 promo back for limited time Posted: 02 Jul 2012 02:31 AM PDT Linn’s +2 promotion is back by popular demand.  Add 2 extra channels of amplification for free when you buy any Majik or Akurate power amplifier between 1st July and 14th September 2012. +2 means that you can get a Majik 4100 for the price of a Majik 2100, an Akurate 4200 for the price of an Akurate 2200, and so on, giving you +2 amplifier channels completely free. Alternatively, if you’re buying an amplifier to go fully Aktiv, we’ll let you choose between the extra channels you need or free Aktiv cards…whichever saves you more money. Why +2? Although one amplifier channel is enough to power a speaker, more amp channels really make it sing! Adding an extra two channels of amplification immediately allows you to bi-amp a stereo playback system to get significantly better sound instantly. Bi-amping reduces distortion and in...

RING 076 007 12 81 FOR HOME VISITS TO TRY ANY LINN PRODUCT OVER SUMMER. LINN KIKO is a new proposition from LINN expanding the range of  LINN DSM products . I have still to listen to this little beauty but there is no question about how promising it is. Both speakers and DSM have aluminium chassis available in a range of colours. The DSM  uses digital power amplifiers with on-board DS player and pre-installed activ cards to run the two way speakers fully activ. As with any LINN DS products it can be controlled by ipad, can stream 24 bit and appears as an app...

Mixing getting all mixed up ...

I am currently helping out with feedback for the release of an album from Ryan McDowell, a young talented singer songwriter from Glasgow. Though Ryan has recently played support for Admiral Fallow and has been twittered by BBC as a new hot talent he is currently unknown. His label has politely declined Radio 1 from playing his demo material preferring to release things properly. Promising!! Ryan's album has now been recorded in the Amazing Gorbals Sound (5M UK pound studio which he shared with Susan Boyle for the week) and is partly acoustic and partly with a full band. The first song to be released has now been mixed by Gordon McNeil and also by the amazing Chris Potter whom has worked with artists like Pink, Sarah McLachlan, Brian Adams & Annie Lennox to name a few. I already have Gordon's take and yesterday I received Chris's version. It took me twenty seconds to decide I liked Gordon's better simply as it was easier to follow, in less of a rush and tho...

Alan Williams (LINN Key account manager) moves on to 'warmer' markets ...

I met Alan a couple of years ago when he returned to Sweden as key account manager after the departure of Andrew Oates.  Pictured below doing what he does best ... Alan is truly amazing at trimming speaker positions. He is a nice man with a love for music, guitars and fat American cars.  It was a pleasure to work with him. Peoples & Schmidt and I personally wish him every success and happiness in the far east ... and a big thanks! Big shoes to fill Barry ;)
